Amerikam/FSU Project

Amerikam reaches out to education and has recently completed a project with manufacturing engineering students from Ferris State University (FSU) of Big Rapids, Michigan. This project has been ongoing for over 30 years and has become a model for collaborative programs between education, and business and industry.

The students designed processes, tooling and equipment, and presented their work to Amerikam engineers for a set-up and production run. Representatives from throughout the company then talked to the students about their roles in the company.

"The Amerikam/FSU project gives students a glimpse into the precision machining industry and ultimately leads to a stronger, job-ready workforce," says Ms. Leonardos. "We believe it is essential to do our part in that effort."
